How it works

Rough notes in. Finished email out. Same field.

Real capture: /rewrite in a Mail compose window, typos and all.

Mail — New Message
01

Start the line with a skill

Type the trigger, then your rough notes. Typos and all.

02

Scribe picks it up

A quiet pill appears while your skill and memory do the shaping.

03

It lands in place

The finished text replaces your draft, in the same field.

Skills

Write your prompt here, or use /generate-cmd-prompt in any text field to have AI generate it for you.

Turn my rough notes into a monthly investor update. Lead with the headline metric. Group into Traction, Product and Asks. Keep every concrete number.

/investor-update is live in every app on this Mac

Brief it like a colleague. It’s live in 20 seconds.

Update: the new onboarding is shipped and early numbers look better. One open item — step 3 still needs design review.

Your words stay yours.

Not an extension. Not a clipboard scraper. A native Mac app that touches one thing — the text you point it at.

The input

Only the line you wrote

The trigger and the text after it. Not your screen, keystrokes, or clipboard.

Training data

Your text — never retained, never trained on.

✕ no path exists
01 — Explicit

No background listening. No keystroke capture. A run happens only when you type a trigger.

02 — Inspectable

Every run is in Activity with its exact before and after. Audit every word.

03 — Reversible

One button in Settings wipes history, memory, and preferences. No ticket.

From the beta

I stopped keeping a second window open to fix my own sentences. I type /rewrite and hit send.

FAQ

Questions people ask on day one.

Does it really work in every app?+

Anywhere macOS lets you type — Mail, Slack, Notion, Linear, Figma, Terminal. Every native text field behaves the same.

What exactly is a skill?+

A trigger and a prompt. /concise is just "tighten this, keep every fact". Edit the built-ins, write your own, or let /generate-cmd-prompt write it for you.

What happens on my first day?+

Install, grant permissions, pick a shortcut, run one guided rewrite. Scribe seeds skills for your role — first real write in about two minutes.

Which Macs are supported?+

macOS 13+ on Apple Silicon. Needs Accessibility and Input Monitoring permission.

Can I delete everything?+

Yes. Settings → Delete Data clears your history, memory, and preferences.
